A pedestrian was struck by two different cars and killed early Sunday morning in Takoma Park, Md.
Prince George’s County police said a car was traveling north on New Hampshire Avenue shortly after midnight when the victim, Walter Franco-Chinchilla, 32, of Hyattsville, stepped into traffic and was hit. A short time later, another car traveling north hit Franco-Chinchilla, who was lying in the roadway.
Both drivers remained on the scene. Investigators said it does not appear the pedestrian was inside the crosswalk.
Investigators do not believe excessive speed played a role in the crash.
