Pedestrian Critically Injured in Hit-and-Run

Laurel police unable to identify victim

A man is listed in critical condition after he was struck by a pickup truck in a hit-and-run in Laurel, Md.

A man was walking along a sidewalk on Route 198 near Route 1 Wednesday afternoon when a white pickup truck jumped the curb and struck him, police said.

The man was thrown over a guardrail and about 20 feet down an embankment into a parking lot shopping center.

Police said the truck should have front end damage and was last seen heading eastbound on Route 198.

The victim was not carrying any identification on him, according to police. He was transported to a nearby shock trauma center with life threatening injuries.

A nearby Metrobus captured the crash on its dashcam.
