Baltimore fire officials are investigating the cause of a fire that killed a patient at the University of Maryland Medical Center.
Hospital spokeswoman Sharon Boston saidin a statement that the fire broke out around 10:30 p.m. Friday, and she confirms that one patient died. The fire was contained to the patient's room, and firefighters put out the flames quickly.
Fire department spokesman Ian Brennan said the cause of the fire and the cause of death are under investigation.
