Parking Practice Ends With Car in Montgomery Co. Community Pool

The pool was not scheduled to be open during the crash

Apparently, this driver could use some parking practice.

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue arrived at the North Creek Community Center about 12:45 p.m. Saturday to find something that didn't belong in the center of the pool.

A four-door black sedan was mostly underwater. The hood was completely submerged and water reached the bottoms of the windows.

The car careened off course during a practice parking session, fire department spokesman Pete Piringer said on Twitter. The car and two occupants slipped into the pool.

Both people inside escaped on their own, Piringer said. Authorities chalked it up to driver error.

Gaithersburg police are investigating. The pool was not scheduled to be open during the crash.
