Weekend Track Work July 30-31

Oy-vey, what a delay

You may experience rail rage, if you’re riding Metro this weekend. Track work will cause serious delays on the Red, Orange, Blue, and Yellow lines.

Let’s start with the Red Line. Expect 30-minute delays because of trains, single-tracking between Van Ness-UDC and Friendship Heights. Trains will also be sharing a track between Takoma and Forest Glen.

Things won’t be much better on the Orange Line. Trains will be single-tracking between Vienna and West Falls Church. On the bright side, trains will be running between East Falls Church and West Falls Church. You’ve had to take a shuttle between the stations the past two weekends, with construction crews building the Silver Line.

If you’re taking the Blue Line, you should add 20 minutes to your trip. Trains will be sharing a track between Stadium-Armory and Addison Road, as well as between Braddock Road and Van Dorn Street.

You’ll have to deal with similar delays on the Yellow Line, with the single-tracking going on between Braddock Road and Huntington.
