Produce Truck Overturns on Beltway's Inner Loop

A tractor trailer overturned on the inner loop of the Beltway Thursday morning, spilling produce and fuel onto the road.

Maryland State Police were called to the scene near the Woodrow Wilson Bridge in Oxon Hill around 8 a.m. Thursday.

The driver of the truck was injured in the accident; his condition is not known at this time.

Crews are still on the scene clearing produce and fuel from the road. Traffic in the area is being diverted to northbound I-295. Police hope to clear the scene shortly.

While the cause of the accident is under investigation, there are some treacherous road conditions in the area.

A dump truck carrying salt lost its load at the underpass near Route 1 in College Park.

Meanwhile, Virginia State Police are on the scene of a fatal accident involving a VDOT contract worker in Ashburn.
