Oven May Have Caused Bethesda Fire

An oven may have been the source of a fire in Bethesda this Thanksgiving that displaced some residents.

Montgomery County Fire Rescue found smoke coming out of an apartment complex in the 5000 block of Bradley Boulevard when they responded to a call just before 1 p.m.

Residents were evacuated from the three-floor building.

When firefighters made it to the source, they found the fire in and under the oven. They were able to control and put out the flames.

The oven, however, is no longer in commission.
