Opposite Sex Roommates Allowed at St. Mary's College of Maryland

Students at a Maryland college can now choose to live with whomever they like regardless of sex or gender identification.

A new open-housing policy at St. Mary's College of Maryland allows students to live with roommates of the opposite sex if they opt in to the program.

They won't randomly get an opposite-sex roommate without their consent.

The college's director of residence life told The Washington Post so far there have been no complaints about the policy.
