Four Passengers Removed From Plane in Baltimore, Later Released

Authorities have released four people who were removed from a Chicago-bound flight at Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport on Tuesday.

They four people were removed from the plane after another passenger on Spirit Airlines Flight 969 reported suspicious behavior as the plane taxied to the runway.

First Sgt. Jonathan Green, a spokesman for the Maryland Transportation Authority Police, said a passenger was watching a media report on his smart phone Tuesday morning, and this report caused the passenger next to him "some concern."

The passenger alerted a flight attendant and the crew decided to return the plane to the gate. The captain asked police to remove three men and a woman from the plane, Green said.

All four were released without charges after a few hours. Green said they are a married couple and a male relative who were traveling together, and another man who was sitting near them.

The flight left after 9 a.m. once the Transportation Security Administration cleared the plane and luggage. The plane had been scheduled to take off at 6 a.m.
