An off-duty police officer was struck by a car in Chevy Chase Tuesday, Montgomery County Police said.
The officer was working security in the area when some business owners told him about a suspicious car parked on Wisconsin Avenue.
The officer spoke to the three people inside the car, who for unknown reasons drove away from the area, striking him in the process.
The officer was taken to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
Wisconsin Avenue was closed briefly between South Park Avenue and Willard Avenue after 5 p.m.
