Occupy DC Spills in to Street Near Convention Center

Demonstrators protest conservative summit

Demonstrators protesting the Defending the American Dream summit at the Washington Convention Center spilled into the streets Friday night.

Occupy DC marched from McPherson Square to the convention center Friday evening.

The summit intends to send a message to Congress and President Barack Obama opposing growing federal government intrusion and debt. Confirmed speakers at the summit included radio host Mark Levin, Republican presidential candidates Herman Cain and Mitt Romney, and former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani. Fox News judicial analyst Judge Andrew Napolitano was scheduled to speak at Friday night’s Tribute to Ronald Reagan dinner.

Occupy DC contends those gathering at the summit have too much influence in politics.
