Nurse Accused of Sexually Assaulting Patient in Her Apartment

A man who worked as an in-home nurse in the D.C. area for years is accused of sexually assaulting a patient.

Endale Weldeyohannes, 31, was caring for a female patient in her northeast D.C. apartment, washing and treating wounds on her lower back. They were alone in the apartment when he sexually assaulted her, according to police.

Afterward, he asked her how she liked it, police said. When she told him to stop, he did again and asked her again how she liked it.

He exposed himself to her before leaving, the victim told police.

Weldeyohannes worked for MedStar Visiting Nurse Association at the time.

MedStar released a statement saying, “When we learned of these serious allegations against him, we immediately suspended him and launched an internal investigation. When he refused to cooperate, we immediately terminated his employment.”

Weldeyohannes is charged with first-degree sexual abuse of a patient or client.
