Northern Virginia Taxi Drivers Targeted in String of Robberies

Police say the same man is wanted for robbing five taxi drivers in the Manassas, Virginia area during the past few days.

Around 3 p.m. Monday, when a 62-year-old driver picked up a man at the Manassas Mall Wal-Mart  and drove him to Sudley Manor Drive. That's when police said the passenger pulled out a knife, snatched the driver's cash and took off running.

Early Tuesday morning, police said the same man robbed a driver at Vernon Street and Tower Place.

"It's sad. I don't know how someone could do that to a taxi driver because we're serving the community," one driver said. "I'm scared ... because I have a wife and kids."

Police say they're investigating, but they need more tips. If you have any information, call Prince William County Police.
