Norovirus Found At Va. School

Students, teachers complained of vomiting and diarrhea

A Prince William County elementary school confirmed the presence of Norovirus after a number of students and teachers complained of vomiting and diarrhea.

According to InsideNOVA, Henderson Elementary School in Montclair sent emails, letters, and phone messages to parents Friday afternoon briefing them about the presence of Norovirus in the school and reminding students about proper handwashing procedures.

A Prince William County Schools spokesman told News4 that the county's health department had confirmed one case of Novovirus at the school, while multiple other people had show symptoms, but had not been officially diagnosed.

The spokesman went onto say that the school was being cleaned with bleach over the weekend and should be open as usual Monday morning.

Parents are advised to keep children home from school if they become ill. Students should remain home until they are symptom-free for at least 24 hours.
