New YouTube Threats Target Va. Tech: Police

"The massacre is coming," one blog says

Virginia Tech police are investigating threats of another mass shooting at the university in a YouTube posting.

Police said in an e-mail sent to faculty and students late Wednesday night there have been no direct threats against the school, the scene of the worst mass shooting in modern U.S. history.

University spokesman Mark Owzcarski said Thursday authorities believe the threats may have originated in Europe. One blog posting says "the massacre is incoming" and two say "next massacre is incoming."

Virginia State Police and the FBI are assisting in the investigation.

In April 2007, student gunman Seung-Hui Cho killed 32 students and faculty members on campus, then took his own life.

Tragedy has continued after the Cho shootings.  Two Va. Tech students were found dead outside of their car in a nearby national forest in August.  And just this week a Va. Tech student disappeared after a Metallica concert.
