New Virginia Railway Express Schedule in Effect

New schedules are in effect on the Virginia Railway Express, and that includes a new round-trip train on the Fredericksburg line.

The commuter rail's changed schedule went into effect Monday. It's just the latest update for the service that provides about 20,000 daily rides on its Fredericksburg and Manassas lines. The new train on the Fredericksburg line means eight round-trip trains will run every day.

Earlier this month VRE opened a new station in Spotsylvania, which is now the southern end of the Fredericksburg line, and work is almost complete on a third track between the Spotsylvania station and downtown Fredericksburg.
