New Metro Video for Inauguration Riders

Metro has released a new video designed to help Inauguration Day riders navigate the system.

The video points out that Inauguration Day will be among the system's busiest. Riders "should be prepared for busy stations, crowded trains and lengthy walks to the ceremony and parade," the video says.

It suggests riders plan their trip in advance by using WMATA's inauguration web page or by picking up one of the "Official Metro Riders Guide" to the inauguration available at most stations.

The video suggests travelers plan their trips to avoid transfers. Remember that parking lots do not accept cash, and that it's a good idea to either use a SmartTrip card or buy tickets for both the trip to the festivities and back home from it at the beginning of the day, to avoid long lines.

Bikes and coolers will not be allowed on Metrorail on Inauguration Day.

Meanwhile, Metro buses that are serving the Inauguration festivities will be marked with special signs.
