New Metro Transit Center Opens in Falls Church

The improved bus depot has better lighting and improved signage.

A new transit center opened in Falls Church, Va., Friday.

“You are here maps” and bus shelters that display route times are featured at the new bus depot at Leesburg Pike and Route 50, adjacent to the Seven Corners Shopping Center. They also offer new and improved lighting.

The revamped area was designed to help relieve traffic around the parking areas of the mall.

“This new facility provides improved amenities for bus riders while improving traffic flow,” Metro General Manager Richard Sarles said.

Metro bus routes 1A, 1B, 1E, 1F, 4A, 4B, 4H, 28A and 28X operate out of the new transit center.  About 1,000 passengers will use the new transit center each weekday.
