Good news for people who take Telegraph Road or Eisenhower Avenue in Alexandria. Two new ramps have opened, allowing new and improved access from the Beltway.
The roads are part of the ongoing Wilson Bridge construction project.
One of the ramps connects motorists on the Inner Loop of the Beltway directly to northbound Telegraph Road. A second ramp provides direct access from the Outer Loop to Eisenhower Avenue. The ramp also allows drivers to go north on Telegraph Road.
Transportation officials say the new ramps will improve safety by eliminating the abrupt weave/merge area associated with the old traffic pattern.
The ramps opened two months ahead of schedule.
