Part of Maryland will see a new area code starting next year.
The remaining numbers in the areas now serviced by area codes 410 and 443 will run out about March, so a new area code will be added.
It'll be 667.
The new area code will be used in all or parts of the counties of Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Calvert, Caroline, Carroll, Cecil, Dorchester, Harford, Howard, Kent, Queen Anne's, Somerset, Talbot, Wicomico and Worcester, and the city of Baltimore.
Existing numbers using the area codes 410 and 443 will not be affected.
The last time Maryland got new area codes was in 1997, when it added 240 and 443.
