Motorcyclist Dies in Montgomery County Crash

A 56-year-old motorcyclist died after a collision with an SUV Saturday night in Montgomery County, Maryland, police say.

Police say the man was riding a 1995 Harley Davidson motorcycle east on Ashton Road in Ashton about 7 p.m. as the driver of a Toyota RAV4 was heading west. The two vehicles collided on a curve between Ashland Drive and Tucker Road, although Montgomery County Police are still investigating why.

The motorcyclist was taken to a hospital, where he died. Police identified him Sunday as Gregory Viccharelli of Ashton.

The driver of the RAV4, a 59-year-old Laurel man, and his passenger, a 92-year-old Olney woman, were taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Collision Reconstruction Unit at 240-773-6620.
