A crash involving a motorcycle caused major gridlock for people traveling into D.C. early Wednesday morning.
Police did not identify the man who was hit while riding his motorcycle on northbound I-395 at 12th Street SW a little before 6:30 a.m., but delays compounded quickly as cars were forced into the left lane.
Police had the crash cleared by 7 a.m., but gridlock remained. By 8 a.m., drivers were moving at only 10 miles per hour the whole way up I-395N from the Springfield Interchange.
