‘Morning Joe' Co-Host Robbed in D.C.

Incident happened outside hotel

MSNBC "Morning Joe" co-host Mika Brzezinski said she was robbed outside a District hotel Thursday morning.

Brzezinski, who is co-host of the show with Joe Scarborough, said during an interview later that morning with District Mayor Adrian Fenty that the incident took place at a well-known Washington hotel while she was waiting for a car to pick her up for the broadcast.

Scarborough brought up the incident on air while Fenty was being interviewed, even though Brzezinski didn't seem to want to discuss it, according to the Washington Times.

"A guy walks across the street straight for her," Scarborough said, adding that the hotel should police the immediate area.

She said the robber asked her for $20 and said something like, "Give me money and nothing will happen."   Brzezinski said she gave the robber $6 in cash, which is all she had with her.

Fenty said police will look into the incident.
