More Snow? Winter Weather Advisory Issued

Band of snow moves through area

Use caution when you head out to work today as a winter weather advisory has been issued for the Washington region until 10 a.m.

A band of snow will be drifting south from northeast Maryland. Although the band is weakening, snowfall rates in the band have been recorded at more than 1 inch per hour.

Look for snow to spread from Frederick and Baltimore City south to the District. Snow could continue until noon with totals of 1 to 2 inches.

There will be a chance of isolated snow showers into this afternoon along with blustery winds and cold temperatures, meteorologist Tom Kierein said.

A winter weather advisory means that periods of snow will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibility.

Temperatures finally start to rise Friday and a much milder pattern will move in for this weekend.
