Montgomery County Residents Ready for Sunday Liquor Sales

For the first time, Montgomery County residents will be able to walk into a liquor store on Sunday and walk out with a bottle of booze -- just in time for afternoon football watching.

The Washington Examiner reports that County Executive Ike Leggett will finalize an executive order later this week to allow liquor sales on Sunday.

Some are against the change, saying Sunday is for family time and worship.  But others are pointing to the additional revenue the county will bring in because of Sunday sales.

Councilman Mike Knapp estimates the county will bring in up to $2 million a year.
