The District passed. Prince George's County said no. So where will the nomadic D.C. United end up?
Maybe Montgomery County, where officials have shown interested in hosting a 24,000-seat stadium, possibly close to the Shady Grove Metro area, according to the Washington Business Journal.
Germantown could also be a potential site for a stadium, the WBJ reported.
The United thought they had a deal for a new stadium in Prince George's County. But Tuesday night those dreams of luxury boxes and a swanky locker room in Maryland likely died.
Why? Because the Prince George's County Council voted 8-0 against legislation that would allow a state-led study to evaluate the proposed D.C. United stadium.
D.C. United representative Doug Hicks said the team would "continue conversations with other jurisdictions regarding a future home for D.C. United."
