Montgomery Co. Bows Out of FBI Headquarters Race

County throws support to neighboring Prince George’s County bid

Montgomery County is no longer lobbying for the new FBI headquarters. County officials told News4 they don’t have a site with enough space near a Metro station.

The U.S. Senate guidelines require the FBI headquarters be within a two-mile proximity to a Metro station.

Montgomery County officials are now throwing their support to neighboring Prince George’s County's proposed site near the Greenbelt Metro Station.

Loudoun County, Va., has seven sites for consideration that are less than a mile from the future Silver Line.

Fairfax County’s pick for the FBI is in Springfield, near the Franconia station.

The U.S. House must still give their guidelines for a new location.

Developers and communities interested in hosting the FBI had until Monday, March 4, to submit their proposal to the General Services Administration.
