Bienvenidos! Montco Parks Going Bilingual

Park lit goes bilingual

Montgomery County’s 410 parks are going bilingual. Pamphlets and park signs are now printed in English and Spanish, due to the rising number of native Spanish speakers in the county.

“Our immigrant population is growing and we have to reflect that,” Kate Stookey, the head of public affairs for county parks told a county council committee, according to a report in the Washington Examiner.

Stookey added that ninety one percent of Montgomery’s residents use the parks.
