Mob of Young People Packs D.C. Store, Steals Snacks

A gang of young people seemed to think there was safety in numbers as they packed a convenience store on Benning Road in Northeast D.C. Monday morning -- then stole snacks and other goods and ran out the door.

Surveillance video released by the Metropolitan Police Department shows about 20 young people packing into the store in the 4400 block of Benning Road at 9:35 a.m. Monday. They come in one after another; only some of theyoung people obscured their faces.

After the store is full, some of the youths grab chips, snacks and water and rush back out.

They are being sought on theft charges.
