Missing Man Suspected in Attempted Bank Robbery Arrested

Police in Maryland said they reported a man as missing only for him to show up at a bank and try to rob it.

The Capital Gazette reported Annapolis police were initially worried about Gregory Klemkowski, 22. His family said a series of incidents led them to be concerned for his welfare, and police had asked for the public's help in locating him.

Police said he reappeared Friday afternoon in the surveillance footage of a Bank of America. Klemkowski allegedly passed a note demanding money before tellers barricaded themselves inside and called 911.

Klemkowski allegedly fled. But he was arrested the next day near Durham, North Carolina, around 8:30 a.m. Police said he was taken into custody without incident and was awaiting extradition to Maryland.
