Missing Man Found Dead in Wooded Area; Suspect Arrested

A Charles County man who was reported missing was found shot to death in a wooded area of the county this week, and a 26-year-old man has been charged with his death.

Ronaj Henderson's family reported him missing on Nov. 2, the Charles County Sheriff's Office says. The 22-year-old Bryans Road resident was last seen a week earlier.

During their investigation, detectives learned that Henderson had been shot in the area of Bryans Road by someone he knew. After the shooting, his killer left his body in a western part of the county.

Police searched the area of Riverside Road and Smith Point Road in Nanjemoy, and on Nov. 4, they found Henderson's body in a wooded area.

Janeal Jerome Thompson, 26, was identified as a suspect in the shooting, and he was taken into custody in Arlington, Virginia, on Sunday.

Thompson has been charged with first-degree murder and other related charges.
