Missing Elderly Couple Found Dead in Md.

Couple missing since visiting daughter Friday

Two bodies found in a farm field in Frederick County, Md., Tuesday morning are those of an elderly couple missing since Friday afternoon, authorities said.

A passerby saw a vehicle in a ravine off Gene Hemp Road at about 11 a.m. Tuesday, according to the Frederick County Sheriff's Office. Upon looking closer, the passerby found two deceased people.

The preliminary investigation determined that the deceased are an elderly couple from Shippensburg, Pa., according to the sheriff's office.

William and Betty Fresch, 85 and 79, respectively, were last seen by their daughter Friday afternoon after visiting her in Mechanicsburg, WHTM reported. It's a trip the couple made weekly.

It appears the couple got stuck off the roadway, got out of the car and began walking, according to the sheriff's office. They apparently succumbed to the weather.

Autopsies will be conducted by the medical examiner's office in Baltimore.

The Frederick County Bureau of Investigation went to the scene off Gene Hemp Road, according to the sheriff's office.
