A military helicopter made a precautionary landing on the field of an Alexandria, Virginia, elementary school Thursday morning.
The U.S. Air Force Huey helicopter landed in a field next to the playing fields at William Ramsay Elementary School after a transmission light came on in the cockpit. A spokesman for Joint Base Andrews says any time something like that happens, the pilot lands the helicopter in the safest spot.
The helicopter landed on the school's field just before 11 a.m. Four chaplains were passengers on the UH1N at the time. No injuries have been reported.
No children were on the field at the time, but after the landing, some students got the chance to go outside and see the helicopter up close and personal.
A maintenance crew was sent to the school.
