Bowie Man Sentenced to Additional 40 Years for Child Molestation

A Bowie, Md., man already serving 41 years in prison for molesting a young boy was sentenced to an additional 40 years Wednesday morning.

Michael Brochu was convicted last month on three counts of third-degree sex offense, one count of child sex abuse, one count of second-degree sex offense, and one count of unnatural and perverted practices for abusing a second boy in his Bowie neighborhood.

This is Brochu's second conviction related to molesting young boys in the Bowie area.

He was sentenced to 41 years in June for sexually abusing a young child in 2011 and 2012 at his home and a community pool in the Bowie area. The victim testified during the trial. His mother said her child was friends with Brochu's grandson.

Brochu faces another trial in March in a third case.

Back in 1982, Brochu was convicted on similar charges.
