Metro Transit Police Increase Patrols at Suitland Metro

More Suitland Metro Patrols After Armed Robberies

Following a string of garage armed robberies over the last month, Metro Transit Police say they have increased patrols at the Suitland Metro Station.

No one was injured in any of the robberies which started on September 25th.  Metro Transit Police say that in each robbery a man with a black handgun approached Metro riders in the Suitland parking garage and demanded property before fleeing on foot.

Four of the robberies occurred during evening hours, while the most recent occurred at 8:35 am on October 13th, according to Metro Transit Police.

Metro Transit Police say the suspect is described as a 20-25 year old 5’6’’ African American male, with a dark complexion, black dreadlocks and a baseball cap.

The robberies come after two reported sexual assaults near the Suitland Metro Station.  Those assaults were investigated by Prince George's County Police.
