Metro Stations Between Rockville, Bethesda Closed for Weekend

You might need plenty of extra time if you plan on taking Metro this weekend.

The Twinbrook, White Flint, Grosvenor and Medical Center stations will be closed Saturday and Sunday for repairs. The maintenance is a part of Metro’s Capital Improvement Program.

Express buses will run between Rockville and Bethesda to help commuters get around the closed stations. Travellers using that portion of the Red Line may experience delays up to 45 minutes.

The Franconia-Springfield and Van Dorn Street stations will be closed on Sunday only.  Blue Line trains will run to and from the Huntington Station which is usually reserved just for Yellow Line trains. Passengers can expect half-hour delays if travelling on that portion of the Blue Line. Metro will have buses at both stations to take riders to and from the Eisenhower Avenue station.

All track work is expected to be completed Sunday night.  The closed stations will reopen Monday morning.
