Metro Reveals Dupont Circle Escalator Progress

Video released shows crews removing main escalator from South entrance

There’s more evidence of progress at the Dupont Circle Metro Station.

Metro released video showing crews removing the center escalator from the station’s south entrance Wednesday.

Crews broke the escalator into seven pieces because of its large size. Each piece required three cranes in order to be hauled from the station.

Dupont Circle’s south entrance is undergoing a full reconstruction.

The escalators are expected to be closed for at least another six months.
