Metro Open Late For NCAA Basketball Fans

Trains will run an extra hour from Gallery Place and Judiciary Square

Good news, college basketball fans: you likely won't have to sweat the ending of Thursday night's NCAA Basketball Tournament doubleheader at Verizon Center.

Metro announced Wednesday that an extra hour of service would be provided from Gallery Place and Judiciary Square following the East Regional semifinals. Fans will be directed to Gallery Place and Judiciary Square stations following the conclusion of the games. Entrances to all other Metro stations will be closed, but customers will be able to exit at all stations during the extra hour of service.

Metro has advised customers to enter the system by 12:50 a.m. Friday to make the last trains.

Marquette faces Miami (Fla.) in the doubleheader's first game, which tips off at 7:15 p.m. The second game, between Indiana and Syracuse will begin 30 minutes after the conclusion of the first game.
