Metro Finds Bed Bugs in Its D.C. Headquarters

Metro is working to exterminate bed bugs that have been discovered at its headquarters in downtown Washington.

The Washington Examiner reports exterminators were brought in after bed bugs were found in an area that houses information technology offices.

Metro spokesman Dan Stessel says the area was treated over the Veterans Day weekend, and the agency is monitoring the area.

The National Pest Management Association says bed bugs have started to move from homes and hotel rooms into offices and public spaces.

Dini Miller, an urban entomologist at Virginia Tech, says there's no reason to panic. She says people need to learn how to deal with these bugs because they will be around forever.
