Federal prosecutors say a Temple Hills man pleaded guilty to taking four girls across state lines for prostitution.
The U.S. Attorney's office says 42-year-old Shelby Lewis entered the plea Thursday and faces up to 20 years in prison.
Prosecutors say the girls ranged in age from 12 to 16 years old when Lewis began prostituting them. They say Lewis met the girls on the streets of Washington and in Maryland and had them work in downtown Washington as well as Maryland. Prosecutors say he was caught in an undercover investigation conducted by Metro police in Washington.
Prosecutors say the girls lived in Temple Hills with Lewis, his children and two adult prostitutes.
