Mayor-Elect Muriel Bowser Announces 2015 Inauguration Schedule

Mayor-elect Muriel Bowser announced the official schedule of 2015 inaugural events Friday morning.

The three-day event will include a 5K, the inauguration, an inaugural ball and lastly a kids' day party. 

Events begin Jan. 1 with an all-ages 5k run/walk, open for registration here. The next event, on Friday, Jan. 2, is an interfaith service at the First Congressional Church of Christ at 8 a.m.

Following the service, Bowser will be inaugurated at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center at 9:30 a.m. She will be joined by Attorney General-elect Karl Racine, Chairman of the Council Phil Mendelson and members of the council, who will all take their oaths of office.

After the inauguration, the D.C. Proud Inaugural Ball will begin at the Washington Convention Center at 7p.m. Residents can register for tickets online or pick up tickets in person beginning Dec. 15.

Bowser will host an inaugural kids' party at 2 p.m. on Jan. 3, at the Southeast Tennis and Learning Center. The ticketed event is open to children ages 12 years and younger and their families.

All online tickets will be made available on the Muriel Bowser site, beginning Saturday, Dec. 13. Tickets are limited, and can be requested here.
