Maryland Woman Charged With Abusing Senior Citizen

Authorities said victim lived in squalid conditions

A Salisbury, Md., woman has been charged with abusing a senior citizen in her care.

Neosha Lynn Chandler, 53, was arrested last week and charged with abuse of a vulnerable adult by custodian, abuse of a vulnerable adult by a family member and reckless endangerment, according to the Wicomico County Sheriff's Office.

The investigation began last month when an elderly woman was taken to a hospital, and authorities learned that the woman lived in squalid conditions with Chandler.

Officials from the Department of Social Services officials visited the home to check on the woman, but investigators learned that Chandler refused to let them enter.

Chandler is being held in the Wicomico County Detention Center on $50,000 bond.
