Maryland State Police Find Three Pounds of Cocaine During Traffic Stop

A New York woman was arrested after Maryland state troopers allegedly found more than three pounds of powder and crack cocaine in a car in which she was a passenger.

A trooper pulled over a car that they say was speeding on Interstate 70 in Frederick early Tuesday.

Police say the trooper saw suspicious activity and called for a police dog to scan the vehicle, reports the News-Post of Frederick.

Authorities say the dog alerted and a search turned up 3 pounds, 11 ounces of cocaine in a bag of women's clothes on the rear seat behind a passenger. Troopers say the drugs were worth about $125,000.

Dyanne Marcia Paul, 20, of Brooklyn, N.Y., was charged with possession of a large amount of cocaine and other offenses.
