Man Charged After Fatally Stabbing Girlfriend's Son in Falls Church: Police

A man is facing a homicide charge after Fairfax County police say he stabbed his girlfriend's adult son to death inside their Falls Church, Virginia, apartment Wednesday morning.

Officers were called to the 2900 block of Charing Cross Road just after 1 a.m. for a report of a stabbing. When they arrived, they found the suspect, 36-year-old Jose Adalberto Vasquez Hernandez, waiting outside.

Inside the apartment, they found 27-year-old Oscar Daniel Diaz Fuentes suffering from a stab wound. He was taken to the hospital, where he later died.

Police believe the two men had some sort of altercation earlier in the night. Hernandez later returned and stabbed Fuentes, according to police.

Police say both Hernandez and Fuentes lived in the apartment. Three children and other adults also live at the home.

No further information was released.
