Police are searching for a man they say shot a man who tried to intervene during a fight between the gunman and a woman in Woodbridge, Virginia.
Prince William County police say Jesse Najera, 30, has been charged in a warrant with malicious wounding and handgun offenses.
The shooting occurred early Sunday morning. Police say Najera was fighting with a woman inside a vehicle parked in front of a home in the 15200 block of Crescent Street.
Police say a 20-year-old man and other people were walking by and witnessed the fight, and the 20-year-old tried to intervene. Najera shot the man in the arm and leg before fleeing, police said.
The man was taken to a hospital and is expected to be OK. He did not know Najera before the altercation, police said.
Najera is a white man standing 6-feet-2-inches tall, weighing 190 pounds with a medium build; short, black hair; and numerous tattoos on his neck and arms.
