Man Tried to Grab Woman From Street in Broad Daylight, Police Say

Police have released a composite sketch of a man who tried to abduct a woman from an Arlington County street in broad daylight.

The victim says she was walking on the 600 block of N. Oxford Street at 2:32 p.m. April 1 when she passed a man she didn't know.

The man called out to her, according to police. When she didn't respond, he grabbed her from behind and tried to pull her toward his pickup truck.

The woman was able to break free and run away, but the man watched her until she entered her home, police say.

The victim did not require any medical treatment. The suspect left the area before police arrived.

Investigators released a composite sketch of the suspect Wednesday.

The suspect is described as a black man in his 20s. He is between 5 feet 9 and 6 feet tall, and he has shoulder-length dreadlocks with red tips.
