Police in Prince George's County took a man into custody after a standoff that lasted more than 10 hours in Upper Marlboro.
Officers were called to the house in the 11900 block of Berrybrook Terrace shortly before 2 a.m. Saturday after receiving a report of a domestic dispute. When officers arrived, they encountered a man with a shotgun. Officers removed the other occupants from the house, set up a barricade, and began negotiating with the man. For the duration of the standoff, the neighborhood was closed to non-residents, and only residents were allowed in or out.
The man's surrender was finally negotiated, and he was taken into custody shortly after 12:30 p.m. No identifying information about the man has been released. No injuries were reported. It is not clear what the man will be charged with, or if any charges will be filed.
