Man Struck by Girlfriend's Ex-Boyfriend in Md. Intersection: PD

A 26-year-old man is recovering from serious injuries after police say his girlfriend's ex-boyfriend deliberately ran over him in the middle of a Montgomery County intersection.

Bryan Jackson, 25, is accused of running over the victim twice in the intersection of Mitchell Street and Armory Avenue Sunday evening. Witnesses told police that Jackson would have run over the victim a third time, but noticed he was trapped underneath the car.

The victim was dragged 30 to 40 yards. Authorities say the victim was transported to an area hospital, where he received 15 to 20 staples in his head and several stitches. He is expected to be okay.

The victim told police Jackson followed him from his girlfriend's Germantown apartment to the Kensington intersection. When the two reached the intersection, the victim said he got out of his vehicle to confront Jackson.

The victim said he remembers going over the hood of the vehicle and waking up surrounded by strangers telling him to stay on the ground.

Jackson turned himself in to police later that day. Jackson told police he didn't know why he followed the victim and had no explanation for his actions.

Police say Jackson was at his ex-girlfriend's apartment to drop off the daughter they share, and did not know about her relationship with the victim.

Jackson has been charged with second-degree attempted murder, first-degree assault and second-degree assault.
