A man who tried to intervene in a physical altercation between two women on a Metro train Thursday afternoon was stabbed in the hand.
The man did not know the women when he tried to stop the fight about 12:45 p.m. at Federal Center Southwest.
Police caught one of the women at Anacostia Metro Station. They found the knife after a witness saw a woman bury it in a mulch pile.
