Man Stabbed, Robbed in Takoma Park

Police search for culprit

A man was stabbed and robbed in Takoma Park, Md., Tuesday evening.

The victim, a man in his 40s, was approached by a man in the 6300 block of New Hampshire Avenue who demanded the victim’s backpack.

In the ensuing struggle, the man pulled a knife and stabbed the victim several times.

Police are looking for the culprit, who took the backpack, which police said contained a laptop computer. He also took the blue T-shirt the victim was wearing and left his shirt behind, police said.

The attacker is described as a black man in his 30s standing about 5-foot-11 with a thin, athletic build; dark complexion; short dark hair; and stubble facial hair. He was wearing blue jeans and black shoes. He fled toward Prince George's County.

The victim is hospitalized in critical condition.
